In this article, it’s the turn of the majestic Faena Hotel Buenos Aires.
Conceived by Alan Faena and designed by Philippe Starck, the hotel is located in the Porteño Building, a grain warehouse built in 1902. Its diversity of spaces, banquet halls, and 90 rooms designed in an imperial style combine comfort, design, and technology.
It goes without saying that the hotel provides 5-star service, meaning any event held there offers the possibility of hosting guests (with a special, discounted rate), so that the event experience extends from a single day into a celebratory stay!
We have visited this beautiful space on many occasions, as, in addition to being an event venue, the hotel is one of the brides’ favorites when it comes to choosing a place for their getting ready process and spending their wedding night.
Wedding night at Faena Hotel:
Due to its privileged location in Puerto Madero, it is an ideal choice if your wedding is going to be anywhere in the City of Buenos Aires, as it is easily accessible to and from any point in the city.
The hotel has many different room options that will work perfectly for two functions:
On one hand, for the getting ready: you will be able to prepare, have your makeup and hair done, etc., in a truly beautiful environment. On the other hand, as is customary in these cases, you will be able to take advantage of the room to spend your wedding night and, "while we’re at it," enjoy all the options this place has to offer, whether it’s enjoying the pool with its signature "poolbar" or the Spa service, which will surely be a ne-ces-si-ty after dancing all night long at your party :).
Of course, the hotel has special promotions for couples!
Faena’s spaces:
Returning to our central theme of the Faena Hotel as a location to celebrate your wedding or event, the first thing we have to say is something that might seem obvious to anyone who knows it: the aesthetics of every space in the hotel are truly incredible. The attention to every detail, its decoration with that very particular style that combines the intense red present in its architecture with white, black, and gold; and above all, that incomparably eclectic style that makes it truly distinct and original.
On the other hand, if there is something that characterizes the Faena, it is its versatility, as it offers its different spaces as solutions depending on the type of wedding (or event) being celebrated:
"The Ballroom" Hall:
The maximum capacity of the hall is 130 guests in a formal layout, and up to 180 guests when the party is held in a cocktail style.
The hall is truly very versatile and adjusts perfectly to the needs of each client, both regarding the number of guests and the event design. There is no ideal minimum, as you can host everything from intimate meals of 30 people to cocktail parties for 180 guests.
The space doesn’t feel too big in either case! The Ballroom features two internal halls and a terrace on the same level (which can also be used as a space for holding outdoor ceremonies). From Ballroom 2, you can appreciate the exterior view of this illuminated terrace through the large windows.
Faena Art Center:
Located a few steps from the Hotel, the Faena Art Center is the most important space in terms of size, generally intended for larger events, as it has a capacity for up to 900 people. It is truly enormous!
In addition to being used for events (weddings, sweet sixteen parties, etc.), this location is designed and thought out (as its name implies) for large-scale art installations and as a convention space.
Built in 1908 as a flour mill, the historical details and original character have been maintained, but with a modern, superb, and imposing design that gives it a futuristic imprint.
In addition to these "main" halls for traditional events with many guests, the hotel makes each of its services and spaces available to each couple, either as complements or even as a main location for small weddings:
Bistró Sur:
This particular place, dominated by white with touches of intense red and decorated with unicorn heads on its walls and antique chandeliers, is, without a doubt, one of the most spectacular gastronomic settings in Argentina.
It has a capacity of approximately 100 people.
El Mercado:
El Mercado combines the energy of Buenos Aires’ legendary cantinas with the charm of European open-air markets. It is an intimate, warm space featuring both indoor seating and an outdoor patio (ideal for weddings with health protocols in the time of Coronavirus – Covid).
It has a capacity of approximately 200 people. It typically functions as a restaurant open to the public, but it has served as the stage for several of the events we have had the pleasure of documenting at the Faena.

– Our proposals are tailored to the requirements and wishes of each couple! Our mission is to guide you throughout the entire process to design the party you want together. However, for those who are just starting to inquire and may feel a bit overwhelmed, we provide a super complete initial package that covers everything from catering to the technical production of your wedding party.
We include a coordinator in our proposals to handle Faena-related details leading up to the celebration; as an additional supplement, we recommend hiring a professional planner for the comprehensive organization and overall coordination of the event.
It sometimes happens, especially with very large parties, that couples feel a bit “overwhelmed” with so much information, and it is always great to have some extra help to relieve that stress ;).
Regarding vendors, the only exclusive vendor is catering. The gastronomic service is provided by Faena Catering.
For everything else, we have a list of recommended vendors and offer guidance throughout the selection process!
Regarding booking and contract timelines, we always suggest booking about a year in advance. But of course, as we all know, the sooner, the better!
